About Dr. Huntoon
Lawrence R. Huntoon, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.N.
I am a board-certified neurologist (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology). I am also a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (the requirements for Fellow status exceed those for board- certification). I have been in private solo practice since 1986.
In addition to my M.D. degree, I have earned a Ph.D. in physiology with specific training in the area of neurophysiology and electrophysiology. I am also trained as a medical research scientist with research experience relating to brain structures involved in Parkinson's Disease.
I completed my residency training at the Dent Neurologic Institute in Buffalo, New York.
I have taught medical residents, medical students, nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists.
I adhere to the high professional standards set forth by the Association of American Physicians and
Surgeons (AAPS ).
I am a past president of AAPS, have served as Secretary of AAPS, and have served 6 terms on the AAPS Board of Directors.
I am the President of the American Health Legal Foundation.
I have authored numerous articles in professional journals.
I lecture on a variety of topics throughout the nation pertaining to the preservation of the patient - doctor relationship and other important issues affecting the practice of medicine.
I am the Editor-in -Chief of the highly respected Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons
